Unbelievably, a very famous (now former?) leftist literally "awakens", right during an interview hosted by Libertarian Lew Rockwell! Here is the interview with Naomi Wolf.

I must however agree with Bill Anderson (on posting on the Lew Rockwell blog, and temper my enthusiasm about the general awakening of anti-liberty Left and/or Right:

As most of you know, I am the supreme skeptic when it comes to any reforming of the Left, but I admit that Lew did a most masterful job in this interview with Naomi Wolf. Not only did he educate her, but it was done in a way that appealed to her own idealism without threatening her own core beliefs.

Now, I always hold that in the end, the Left will choose the violence of the state over non-violence because the only way that the "goals" of the Left can be met is through overwhelming violence, or at least the threat of violence. There is a reason that in my lifetime, I have heard the Left defending the U.S.S.R., China, North Korea, Cambodia under Pol Pot, and, of course, that great bastion of freedom, Cuba.

Unfortunately, after the past eight years, I have come to see "conservatives" endorse things I never would have thought were possible. Thanks, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of you red-state fascists for helping to make our worst nightmares possible.
